Download required. While playable offline, an update is essential due to significant performance issues and, ultimately, a game-breaking bug that halted progression.

A code voucher for the 'Deluxe Edition' contents ("Opossums Sais" weapon, "Mud Ball x 3" & "Pure Crystal x" consumable items, "White Sparrow's Coat & Mask" attire + digital artbook) is included in the physical packaging.
-- Game-Breaking Bug: After defeating Lore, the Lost Lancer, at the end of the first sewer area, the subsequent elevator that leads into the second location of the game simply loops the loading screen tips indefinitely. Reloading & re-installing the game data didn't fix the issue. The playthrough was abandoned as a result which, effectively, makes the disc build serve almost like a demo.
-- Various identifying elements embedded into the presentation seem like some sort of "anti-leak" measure on the disc build. During the opening cut-scene, which plays out with English audio regardless of in-game / console settings, an underlying electronic, female-like voice will repeatedly say "Vanguard Sound Studio" about every 15 seconds. For reference, Vanguard Sound is the Shangai-based music & sound design company that worked on the game.
Another ID text mark, written as "Sonkwo," appears in the bottom-right corner throughout the experience except in the 'Pause' menu. Pre-rendered cut-scenes appear to be impacted with missing sound (ex. no audio / text when first meeting Asteria, no noise for the Lore boss, etc.)
-- In comparison to some video walkthroughs, select elements appear to be missing (ex. built-in lights on ladders for increased visibility, first relived memory fragment doesn't project an NPC hologram, etc.) along with environmental lighting effects (ex. sharp pop-in for shadows, fence grating has a minor flickering effect, etcetera). A menu option to 'Cultivate Branch' at the save / upgrade points also doesn't appear.
-- Frame-rate drops are noticeable during gameplay & destructible physics can cause various debris to float.
-- The tutorial notification on how to performance fatal stealth strikes doesn't appear although the ability to backstab is still present.
-- After speaking with a pair of NPCs near a mattress at the beginning, it seems nearly every minor NPC model afterward is completely absent. The button prompts to speak with them & their respective dialogue still function.
