Aliens: Dark Descent

The game received a negative rating for download require due to a game-breaking bug in mission 11.

When you have completed the main mission in mission 3, the FPS drops to about 15. It’s still somewhat playable but that level will always run at that FPS. We tried quitting and restarting, reinstalling the game and restarting system but that result was always the same.

You must return here in a future mission which has the same issue until you reach the next mission waypoint and only then this issue goes away for the rest of the game.

Now and then we couldn’t complete a side objective, which required us to extract our team and then relaunch the mission. This isn’t a massive issue thanks to the fact each mission stays up to date with what you have completed.

Mission 5 has a bug when accessing the AI room, if you pack enough Sentry guns to defend the control room you can not hack the AI door. The mission also will not tell you this is an issue, you have to collect the sentry guns from the armory or the mission will not progress. We figured this out after a while.

On mission 11 a side objective to kill a certain enemy can not be completed due to the enemy for some reason being invincible and running away has it follow you for a short while before stopping completely.

GAME BREAKING BUG: On mission 11, once you meet a certain objective the game doesn’t trigger the objective correctly but does progress. This allows you to complete the entire mission but the objectives are stuck at 10/11 meaning you can not progress the story.
