Requires a Disney Infinity Base and at least 1 figure to play. Each story campaign requires it's own separate playset piece. Toy Box mode can be played without any playset piece.
Some 3.0 toys that were released post launch require an update to use them. Unopened figures that require the update will have a disclaimer on their packaging if they require an update.
The Force Awakens playset has a DRM lock to prevent people from playing it too early, however it is possible to play it offline and without the update by entering the code "4kf7z9yfcs2d" when prompted after placing the playset on the base (Code should be the same for all platforms).
