Test Notes:
※ The physical packaging for the standard release through Limited Run Games has interior cover artwork and a manual.
-- Technical issues that were present in the original release, such as low-resolution / pre-rendered backgrounds, compressed cutscene quality, etc., along with archaic design choices (ex. enemy A.I. blind spots, possibility of getting hung on floor layouts, unbalanced enemy encounters for 'Hard' mode, lack of auto use of key items already in your inventory on points-on-interest, etc.), are likely retained in this altered port.
-- At least two cutscenes with Jacob "Deke" DeCourt felt like they cut to the next sequence just a tidbit bit too soon while he was delivering dialogue. It is also possible to potentially softlock your save data on 'Hard' difficulty as the player can run into fights without enough ammo to overcome the challenge. Dying will simply prompt the player to load their latest save data which might not provide enough room to course correct. As a result, it's advised to manage multiple save files throughout the experience in order to navigate around such trouble and avoid wasting ammo on enemies, especially during the final location of the game, as much as possible. However, please note that one trophy, "Master of Fear," involves beating the game in a single sitting without any continues and presumably no save functionality.
Content Completed:
-- Completely playable offline with no download required. Beaten on 'Hard' difficulty with the 'Spare Glas & Hana / True' ending while utilizing default settings. All attempted trophies unlocked as necessary. The other two alternate endings, plus cheat codes found in the original PS1 release, were left untested for reference.
