Version 1.0.0. on cart.
No patches available at the time of testing (Jan 2024).

Completed the game on “Normal mode”, including finding all hidden items and finishing the game with the true ending. In this mode, the game allows convenient features such as rewind, save states and loads.

Other modes available are “Serious mode” and “Speed run mode”. For serious mode, the game allows the game to be played without rewind, save states or loading. Also, ingame achievements can be unlocked in this mode. Achievements will not unlock in normal mode. Speed run mode is exactly what it sounds like, beating the game as far as possible.

Played up to level 3 of Serious Mode, unlocking 7 achievements out of 25. Some of the achievements include score based achievements, beating level achievements, and collecting hidden items achievements.

The game runs fine, although you can find complaints online that state there is button input delays. During this test, we didn’t feel the input delays. We were able to make jumps and precise platforming without much issues, other than the game just being difficult.
Also tested this docked for a few minutes. Same result.

There are extra features built on the cartridge. They include:
- Several borders, including being able to turn them off completely
- Screen size can be altered.
- Controls can be altered. This is important because the game is set up to have the A button as jump, and B as attack. With the Switch joycons, this doesn’t feel intuative. The second control option applies the B button to jump and Y button to be attack and this felt perfect for this game.

Additionally, the game has some extras, such as being able to view images of package designs, original game carts, and original manuals. The original manuals presented are not in English. One appears to be in Japanese, while the other manual seems to be in multiple languages, neither of which are English or Spanish, in case you were looking for those. The physical version of the game does include a manual in English though.

Accessibility options: Rewind and Save states offered on Normal mode.

Difficulty options: Normal mode, Serious mode and SpeedRun mode.

Languages: English and Japanese.

Played mostly handheld.
