Test Notes:

Story mode, Arcade, Versus (Local), Practice, Tutorial, and Collection are all accessible offline.

It is possible to earn XP to level up both your profile and individual characters offline, however any badges, backgrounds frames, or titles cannot be equipped while offline.

It does not seem to be possible to earn any trophies while offline, at least in the disc build. This was tested on both a local account and a PSN account and neither of them earned any trophies after meeting the requirements for them.

Most of the player profile does not update offline either. It will show your current level and upcoming rewards, but none of the stats update while offline.

Anytime you go back to the main menu, hovering over the Versus mode button will trigger a connection error. A PS5 system connection error will also appear if you are playing on a local account. It is possible to play Versus mode after closing the messages out.

Issues encountered:

  • None of the subtitles display when playing Story Mode or during Arcade Mode endings, regardless of the language you choose. They do display when playing other modes.

  • Encountered multiple instances of subtitles that simply said “MISSING” instead of what the character actually said.

  • In the collection menu, most of the stages display the image for The Moon’s stage instead of the correct image. It is also only possible to interact with a few of the stage’s images.

  • The unlock criteria for the Himalayas (Blizzard) stage is missing. The patched version says you can unlock the stage by completing the Invincible ladder in Arcade, though this could not be tested.

  • After completing a fight, the item displayed as your next reward for leveling up will always be the same, regardless of what item you actually unlock next.

  • Some minor framerate drops can happen when the environment changes between rounds.
