1.4 on cart contrary to the European version which came out much earlier and had 1.0 on cart.
Even though this was the most patched up version at the time of testing, it still has some major issues.
Frame rates hit anywhere between 15 to 20 FPS at times, maybe lower. while the target seems to be 30 fps.
When there are lots of enemies on screen, the game obviously slows down. But what is even more annoying is that the game even drops frames when there are no enemies on screen and you are just walking around the level.
Framerate issues occur in both handheldand docked mode.
Also the audio would just stop working at times (specifically music in the background). You could only still hear Kao’s sound effects when he would jump, and collectible pick up sounds but the music would just stop working out of nowhere.
It wasn’t specific to a level as it would just happen randomly and restarting the game would fix it.
We recommend getting this on another console!
