This game is a very multiplayer focused live service game, however despite the box saying the game requires internet, it can be played offline.

The main tournament mode cannot be played offline as it is completely multiplayer only, but the game does feature a dedicated single player mode that is playable offline with over 60 missions. It doesn’t have any proper story but it does have an ending and it is possible to roll credits offline. It takes around 4 hours to roll credits but there’s a ton more missions available after that point as well.

The game initially starts you off with a small selection of missions after the initial tutorial. You have to unlock more missions by talking to people with a red exclamation mark in the hub area. More people usually show up after doing missions but not everyone that appears in the hub will give you new quests, meaning you’ll sometimes have to replay missions you’ve already played to make new quests show up.

It is possible to earn XP, level up, as well as open scrolls (this game’s form of lootboxes) while offline. It is also possible to unlock new VR masters and level up their rank offline.

Issues encountered:
- During a few missions the animations for the player character bugged out making it look like they were falling forever. Wall running always fixed the issue
- During one mission the player model became invisible near the end, but it was only for the last few seconds of the mission
- During one mission the framerate dropped fairly significantly during one of the combat encounters.

Offline Features & Modes:
- VR Ninjitsu Arena (Single Player Missions)
- Ninjitsu Library
- Ninja Tools Shop
- Inn
