Test Notes:
※ Physical release includes a digital soundtrack code voucher.
-- Occasionally unreliable enemy A.I. where foes walking off elevators can move all the way down to the bottom of the stage without any combative action. They can also sometimes wander over to the sides of the screen & remain stationary for an extended period of time. Normal functionality can return after defeating a certain number of opponents on screen, directly attacking them or venturing over to their vicinity.
-- Strange floaty physics for the playable character models when dropping from elevated platforms at the start of stages 4 & 6. Almost like they're doing a jump animation before halting mid-air with a slightly delayed fall. It doesn't disrupt the actual gameplay other than being a visual oddity.
-- Character models in the background can sometimes overlap those appearing closer in the foreground, particularly lingering bodies on the floor.
-- Default master volume level appears to be rather loud so it might be worth recommending to lower down into a more comfortable range.
Content Completed:
-- Beaten on 'Normal' difficulty with default settings. A complete playthrough was done with Jake Hunter while Christopher Smith, Hong Hua Zhao & Lio Feilin were sampled on the final level to obtain their respective ending / trophy. All attempted trophies unlocked as necessary.
Additional Notes:
-- Install Size: 1.43 GB
-- Despite the main game being bookened with altered cutscenes from the arcade version, even using a modified presentation that shows them operating in native resolution with a cabinet-style screen border, it doesn't appear to offer the original 1993 game whatsoever. Options to use the arcade / retro soundtrack & various pixelated filters over top the HD remake visuals are present, but nothing appears to offer the classic pixel-art presentation from the arcade release. A digital version of the original experience was briefly made available on the Nintendo Switch from 2018 until 2023 before being delisted in prep for this HD remake.
