An overall pretty messy cartridge build. In terms of the single player story mode you can play through the entire thing unpatched and offline including the secret level. The patch does add a few minor additions to single player including photo mode and the ability to change the captain's outfit. Most of the rewards for completing the campaign require you to claim them in the online lobby before they become usable. In terms of multiplayer, you can play it offline via Local Wireless however the cartridge build is missing LAN support, the entire Tableturf mode, Recon mode, and only containts 8 out of the 12 initial launch multiplayer maps & 1 of the 3 launch Salmon Run maps. amiibo support also requires the patch. Local multiplayer & Salmon Run do not have offline progression but Salmon Run allows you to select most of the base weapons without needing to unlock them first. UPDATE: As of the 1.1.1 patch, the Tableturf mode option was removed entirely from the local play lobby so it seems like that mode will not be playable locally unless the devs ever patch the option back in as it seems like local play was at least planned judging from the 1.0.0 version.
