Test Notes:

The only mode playable offline is the Story Mode. Boss Raids, Free Roam and Co-Op Quests require the latest update and an internet connection.

Gameplay and Resolution are persistent in Handheld Mode especially with Handheld Mode Boost. Keeps a clear image and rarely drops below 30 Frames Per Second.

During the cutscene at the start of “Chapter 2 Quest 5: Cardinal”, the characters popped in during the scene.

The camouflage textures for Fukaziro’s default outfit appear pixelated most of the time.

Textures took a bit of time to load after going through the portal for a Forest Zone.

During the “Kraken the Abyss Lord” fight a downed character went under the ground after the boss swiped with an attack, however the player was still able to revive the downed character.

Noticed a Voltstrecker enemy moving side to side in a static-like way but was still able to be defeated normally.

Witnessed the “Weird Nest” boss fling a player character far away from the area after being defeated. They were able to be revived regardless.

Content Completed:

Main Story and all Side Quests completed.

All other modes could not be tested due to requiring internet.

Additional Notes:

Upon starting the game, the game will request that a software update or a Nintendo Account is required, however this can be bypassed. Then the game will throw a pop up screen error “E_NET_SWT001000010”. Afterwards, the game will detail the following of what cannot be done offline:

•Only Story Mode is playable.
•Main Menu’s Trial and Store tabs are inaccessible.
•Lobby Message Box can’t be opened.
•Friend-related tabs in the Communication Screen are inaccessible.
•Cannot dismantle or enhance Epic / Legendary weapons or Accessories.
•Cannot enhance weapons or accessories requiring L/XL Upgrade materials.

The game was entirely played in Handheld Mode.

Handheld Mode Boost was used for this title.

Played on Nintendo Switch 2 Firmware 22.1.0

Since a patch is highly recommended, an important note is as of April 27th, 2026, it’s currently at version 1.6.1.0 and at least 3.2 GB of space is required to play online. An active Nintendo Switch Online Paid Membership may also be required for the online only modes as well.
