Test Notes:

The game is beatable, but the rather janky controls make certain sections absolutely tedious. It received an orange rating for download required as a result.

NOTE: Apparently, the controls have always been "janky", even in the original. A remaster would have been the chance to improve on this, and looking at impressions for part two, this seemed very possible. However, the flaws of the original remain in this remaster.

Performance wise the game plays smoothly.
No bugs or glitches encountered either.
During the second half of the game, it becomes obvious that the controls are simply not precise enough to make it an enjoyable experience. Sometimes, the character will continue drifting in a certain direction despite pushing the joystick in the opposite direction. Pushing the joystick can also lead to inconsistent movement in different situations. One time you push it fully in one direction and it results in regular movement, in other cases it doesn’t seem to do anything at all, while the third outcome is you racing across the screen despite only barely looking at the joystick. This makes sections like the Tower, in which you have to hover and dash through power currents for an extended period of time, borderline unbeatable.
