The Callisto Protocol
(PEGI - Standard)
- Striking Distance Studios
Able to beat the game from start to finish. So in that sense you don’t need internet or patches to play the game.
It is, however, very much recommended that you do patch the game and play it on stronger hardware like Xbox One X or Series X.
Playing with some of the accessibility features like auto dodge turned on does help make the experience more tolerable on the original Xbox One as timing dodges can be rather tricky. More powerful hardware fixes several issues that appeared on the Xbox One VCR. Stable framerate, a lot less pop-in to the point it's not really noticable. Character models don't jitter anymore during cutscenes. Some glitches like buggy subtitles still remain but the experience is far more stable.
Along the way these issues were encountered:
-very bad framedrops, sometimes into the single digits
-very long loading times which gets very frustrating real fast if you keep dying on a hard boss like the two-headed monster
-game crashed one time
-One room refused to load in until the player was standing right in front of the entrance
-cutscenes have stuttering character models and sometimes gun models or attachments fail to be loaded in the hands of the characters or float in mid-air
-minor audio glitches
-subtitles are busted
