The game suffers frustrating issues that make playing through the disc build a hassle. Keep in mind that the severity of these issues are amplified by the nature of this game being timed and stealth based.
1) Occasionally, button prompts for interactable objects will not appear on screen, despite being able to interact with them when you press the appropriate button. This is disastrous when combined with the next issue.
2) The selection cursor is usually completely inaccurate. The cursor to select items like numbers in a keypad usually involve having to hunt for the numbers off to the side of the actual object, sometimes far away to almost be off screen.
3) Frequent texture pop-in when walking around areas, and infrequent lighting issues.
4) Interactable items will sometimes glitch out visually. One of the most obvious culprits were the clamps holding the collapsed building’s structure during the prologue to the second level, jittering and floating about. However, these don’t impede progression.
5) For some vents, notes, and other interactable objects, the Open and Close commands are inverted and do the opposite effect. Folded or crumpled notes and letters sometimes required dropping the item and picking it up again in order to unfold correctly.
6) The game starts suffering crashes from the Metacentre level onwards. Since levels do not have checkpoints, this can be frustrating and jeopardizes significant progress.
All of these, among other smaller miscellaneous issues, make The Occupation, despite being technically completable from the disc build, highly recommended to patch.
