- The game only boots up the intro screens while offline. When trying to enter the main menu, an error will pop, saying "Unable to login to Playstation Network." Therefore, there is no offline functionality at all, not even to view unlockables or stats.
- When trying to start the game online but without updating it, a similar error will pop up after the intro screens and before entering the main menu, saying "You must update the application to play."
