Contrary to popular belief that the disc only contains the tutorial, it is possible to play the entire game offline and without updates.

In order to play any of the main levels offline, you must press triangle on them to start a private match as the main option tries (and fails) to join an online lobby.

All single player missions can be completed offline. Pro missions are available in each level after earning all other stars in the level.

Create-a-park is available offline, though the only way to play your levels is to test them in the editor.

The levels “Mountain”, “Wild West”, and “The Underground” were all added in post launch updates. The characters “Lil Wayne”, “Tyler the Creator”, and “TMNT” were also added in updates.

The character “King Graham” cannot be unlocked offline in the PS4 version as he requires you to play the online multiplayer modes to unlock. It is possible to unlock him offline in the last gen versions of the game by earning all mission stars as those versions lacks any multiplayer features.

The game suffers from major performance and physics issues, which are still mostly present even with the patch.

The disc build actually does one thing better than the patched version. There are no load screens between missions in the disc build, while the patch has to reload the whole level each time you move between missions.
